FOUR people have been taken to hospital after a four-car crash on the A35.

Emergency services were called to the collision, near the turning for Bloxworth, at around 12.45pm.

The cars involved were a blue Alfa Romeo, bronze Honda CR-V, a black Kia cee'd and a grey Audi A7.

The four people have been taken to hospital as a precaution, although the injuries are not believed to be serious.

A road closure was put in place between Morden Park Corner and Woodbury Cross to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.

The road has now reopened and traffic queueing along the B3075 Quarr Hill has returned to normal.

Chief Inspector Heather Dixey, of Dorset Police, said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact police.

"I would also like to speak to anyone who saw the manner of driving of any of the vehicles involved prior to the incident."
