*GET patriotic at St George's Fair in Fordington, Dorchester, tomorrow.

This year the fair will be opened by the Deputy Mayor of Dorchester at 1pm and continues until 4pm.

There will be all the usual stalls, entertainment, hog roast, Pimms tent and cream teas.

The Mercy Ships tour, raising funds for a medical ship, will feature Dan Alexander - magician to the stars and Nicki Rogers - a critically acclaimed singer/songwriter.

*A MADCAP physical interpretation of the Brontë myth, taking the real and imaginary worlds of the Yorkshire siblings as inspiration, comes to the Corn Exchange in Dorchester tonight from 8pm.

We Are Brontë uses only a handful of props, with the two masterful performers deconstructing not only gothic themes of love, madness and revenge, but also themselves. Contact Dorchester Arts for tickets.

*TRY to peel yourself away from Powerstock this weekend.

The village, near Bridport, is holding its annual Powerstock Cider Festival tomorrow at the village hall (Powerstock Hut). (22)

There will be around 20 cider producers attending the festival as well as local food suppliers.

Tickets cost £6 and are available from Bridport TIC, Frosts in West Street as well as the Marquis of Lorne in Nettlecombe and the Three Horseshoes in Powerstock.

*HELP keep our beautiful Dorset beaches litter free by taking part in the Great Dorset Beach Clean this weekend.

Tomorrow, beach cleans will be held from 10am-12noon at Swanage beach, Durdle Door, Seatown and from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Chesil Cove and Charmouth.

On Sunday, April 23, the beach cleans will be from 10am-4pm at Hive Beach, Burton Bradstock, 10am – 5pm at Abbotsbury, 10am-12noon at Eype, The Cobb, Lyme Regis, Bowleaze Cove and Newton’s Cove. 10am – 1pm at West Bexington, 10.30am to 12.30pm at West Beach West Bay and from 11am -1pm at Worbarrow Bay and Ferrybridge and finally from 2pm to 4pm at Cogden.

*TOP David Bowie tribute act Absolute Bowie will perform in the Ocean Room of Weymouth Pavilion tomorrow evening from 8pm.

Absolute Bowie will play a two hour set covering the 70s Ziggy Stardust era and the 80s Thin White Duke era, performing all the classic hits and favourite album tracks. Call the pavilion for tickets.

*A CONCERT of Spring harmonies will be performed by Serenata at Holy Trinity Church, Warmwell, tomorrow from 7.30pm. Doors open at 6.45pm.

This is a fund raising event for the upkeep of this lovely mediaeval church and entry is free.

*KATHRYN Roberts and Sean Lakeman take their Saved for a Rainy Day tour to the Corn Exchange, Dorchester, on Sunday from 8pm.
