NATIONALLY acclaimed seven-piece gypsy folk-rock band Holy Moly & The Crackers are rolling in to Dorset for a weekend of lively music and tall tales this summer as part of the new Artsreach programme of events in the county.

The band, a seven-piece ‘gypsy folk n roll’ group from Newcastle, have been making an impact on both the national and international live music scene, touring throughout the UK and appearing at numerous festivals over the summer including Glastonbury, Larmer Tree and Kendal Calling.

Influenced by an eclectic range of music, Holy Moly & The Crackers play an exciting and visceral blend of rock, pop, folk, blues, balkan, klezmer, ska and reggae.

Tracks from their debut album and subsequent EPs have been played by many, including BBC Introducing and leading music critic Mike Harding.

Now this summer the band embark on a national tour to coincide with the release of a brand new album, and will be in Dorset for just two performances on May 13 and 14 in Sturminster Marshall and Buckland Newton.

Kerry Bartlett, Artsreach co-director said: “We first saw Holy Moly at a rural touring conference and the combination of their lively energy, electric stage presence and bold storytelling was just unforgettable.”

“Following their debut tour with us in 2015 and thanks to the support this season of our funders and local solicitors Blanchards Bailey, we are excited to be a part of this UK tour.”

In the perfect collision of rowdy tunes, pumping dance ability and compelling storytelling, this wrangling folk group present a medley of original songs and old time drinking tunes, both hilarious and thrilling, and sure to entertain.

The performance takes place on May 13 at 7.30pm at Sturminster Marshall Memorial Hall. To book call, 01258 857447
