HE’S been described as one of the brightest talents on the comedy circuit.

Sharp and topical, Nick Doody is known for his particular brand of political comedy.

his brand of political comedy and satire has won him fans all over the country…in fact all over Twitter as well, where he’s polled as one of the major names in British comedy.

Now the Channel Four favourite will be heading to town next month to headline Bournemouth’s LOL comedy club at the Pavilion.

Nick’s career in stand-up got off to a good start. Whilst still a student, Nick was asked to support one of American’s favourite comedians Bill Hicks.

Requested by Hick himself Doody was the envy of many of his comedy colleagues and since then Nick has become a familiar face on the comedy circuit.

As well as gigging regularly all over the UK and Europe, Nick also writes for both TV and radio including The Secret Policeman’s Ball, The Now Show for Radio 4, BBC4’s Late Edition’ Channel 4’s , 8 Out of 10 Cats and also the Friday Night Project.

Most recent writing projects include BBC’s ‘NEVER SEEN STAR WARS’, ITV’s ‘ONE NIGHT ONLY’ and E4’s ‘RUDE TUBE’. He also devised and wrote the hit Radio 4 series ‘BIGIPEDIA’ which has recently had a second series confirmed.

Nick Doody will be joined by Tony Burgess who was nominated in 2004 for best stand up and writer at the North West Comedy awards.

This led to him working on a wide range of shows such as the award winning BBC 3 comedy Ideal (where he also played Troy, a mad DJ who lived in a cupboard). Tony has also written for wide variety of comedians including Lily Savage, Brian Conley, Steve Coogan and Johnny Vegas.

Although he looks a bit rough, he’s instantly likeable and never fails to charm a crowd making him one the most sought after comedians and headliners in the country. Don’t miss!

“Wish he could have talked all night: side-splitting stuff!” Metro

Last up is Kae Kurd, a young British-Kurdish stand up. Passionate about making politics accessible to young people, his comedy presents beautifully crafted slick routines with confident cutting edge flair.

Already a well known name on the urban circuit, in 2015 he made his transition to the mainstream and now regularly performs at the country’s leading venues.

He has made numerous radio appearances including The Big Comedy Show, Radio 1 Extra, The Weekend Breakfast Show Host and Capital FM. As well as radio he also has made television appearances such as Know Your Rights, Channel 4 Education and The Funny Thing About…
