Nurses at a Dorchester hospital have been recognised for their hard work and dedication.

In celebration of International Nurses Day, staff, consultants and patients at BMI The Winterbourne Hospital joined millions of people internationally in honouring the hard work, dedication and professionalism of nurses around the world.

The event is a day of recognition and celebration as nurses worldwide unite to take pride in their jobs and highlight the crucial role they play in the delivery of healthcare provision worldwide.

To celebrate the day, the hospital’s healthcare team was rewarded for its hard work and dedication with a treat of tea and cake.

Bethany Bishop, director of clinical services at the hospital, said: “International Nurses Day provides us with an excellent opportunity to give back to our staff and recognise the hard work and dedication they put in every day to ensure our patients get top notch medical treatment delivered within a friendly environment.

“I feel very fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated team of nurses and healthcare assistants at our hospital, so it’s an absolute pleasure to take a day out to pay tribute to the vital role they play in the running of The Winterbourne Hospital.”

A recent survey revealed that 99.8 per cent of the hospital’s patients rated their care as ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’.
