A new stage show featuring two of the lead dance stars from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing is coming to Christchurch this week, as part of a major new national UK tour.

Somewhere In Time – An Audience With Ian Waite & Natalie Lowe is a brand new production which promises dance fans and audiences a night to remember when it comes to the Regent Centre on Tuesday, June 6.

Strictly’s favourite couple are back with a bang after their first successful UK tour, and this new show is set to prove to be another smash-hit production filled with breath-taking routines, stunning costumes, wonderful music and plenty of romance.

The golden dance couple are dancing their way through 68 shows in 62 venues with their new show, travelling across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Ian and Natalie have become family favourites on the hit BBC show. They are best known for their high intensity performances and the pro-pairing have always pushed the boundaries of dance to bring out the very best of their celebrity partners.

Ian and Natalie have now created an entirely new show with specially choreographed routines of their favourite ballroom and Latin dances, styles which the couple specialise in – Ian in Latin American and Natalie in ballroom.

Audiences will be transported to a time of tradition and romance, and new music has also been developed to accompany the routines. The dance showcase spectacular will also feature stories, laughter, and a close-up look at the lives of Ian and Natalie.

“We are absolutely delighted to announce our new tour for 2017," says Natalie, "it’s always a pleasure dancing with Ian. It’s such an amazing feeling taking a new show out on the road and meeting the fans.

"It’s a very special feeling seeing the faces of audience members and how much they are enjoying the performances.”

Natalie appeared in the last series of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing putting celebrity dance partner, Olympic gold medallist long jumper Greg Rutherford, through his paces.

The 36-year-old Australian, who originally hails from Sydney, was a regular professional on Dancing With The Stars in Australia before heading to the UK.

It was back in 2009 when Natalie first graced the Strictly dancefloor, dancing her way to the final with actor Ricky Whittle. Her dance partners on the show have since included actor Scott Maslen, boxer Audley Harrison, cricketer Michael Vaughan, celebrity auctioneer Tim Wonnacott, and chef Ainsley Harriott.

Since hanging up his dance shoes on Strictly, Ian has become a firm favourite behind the scenes on Strictly Come Dancing’s It Takes Two programme with his very own slot, Waite's Wednesday Warm-Up – during which he casts his expert eye over the weekly progress of the celebrities and their professional partners.

The 45-year-old, from Reading, is enjoying an illustrious dance career. He began dancing aged 10 when he accompanied his younger brother to Saturday dance lessons and was enticed onto the dancefloor for the very first time.

Even then, it was clear to all that despite being in his school rugby and football teams, Ian was a born performer and dancer.

He went on to make it to the European Professional Latin Championships finals in 2003. His celebrity dance partners on Strictly Come Dancing have included singer Mica Paris, Olympian Denise Lewis, model Penny Lancaster-Stewart, model Jodie Kidd, and radio personality and television presenter Zoe Ball.

“Natalie and I had an incredible time touring the country last year for our first ever UK tour," says Ian.

"We were overwhelmed and humbled with the response we received. And now we’re thrilled that we’ll be back on the road.

"Wonderful dance routines, beautiful music, stunning costumes, amusing tales and plenty of romance – what’s not to like. See you there!”
