AFTER three decades of touring, one of the UK’s most popular variety productions, That’ll Be The Day, is back on the road and heading for Weymouth in July and August.

Organisers have promised fans a brand new show featuring colourful costumes, comedy and classic hits from the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s.

Originally established on the cabaret circuit in the late 1980s, That’ll Be The Day began playing at regional theatres in the early 1990s.

Today it performs more than 200 shows a year to capacity audiences across the country. Trevor Payne, who first created the show back in 1986, still directs, produces and stars.

Trevor says he rewrites all the material for the show for each year, and more than six months is taken in planning and preparation.

That’ll Be the Day will make two visits to Weymouth Pavilion this summer.

The first is on Saturday, July 29 while the second is on Wednesday, August 23.

It will also be the Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts, on Wednesday, June 21.

The show then goes to Bournemouth Pavilion for an extended run in September. See thatllbetheday.com for details.
