Firefighters tackled a sizeable fire at an out building in Bridport.
Emergency services were called to the scene, opposite the turning to Sidney Gale House, just after 1pm today.
A road closure was put in place between the Crown roundabout and Morrisons.
Two fire crews from Bridport were dispatched to the fire, inside a stone building on West Bay Road.
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) said: "We were called at 1.05pm.
"The cause of the fire is thought to have been a faulty battery charger."
Police assisted the fire service by directing traffic and motorists were warned on social media to avoid the area if possible.
An eyewitness said the traffic in the area at the time was "quite bad", as was the smoke.
Shoppers wanting to access Morrisons needed to do so via the town centre.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said the were contacted by DWFRS at 1.27pm.
The fire was extinguished using hose reel jets and the road was reopened at around 3pm.
