THE Coastguard Helicopter landed in Weymouth to help an elderly woman who collapsed on the seafront.
The helicopter was seen landing on Weymouth beach around at around 2pm after the woman collapsed on the Esplanade near the pavilion.
The coastguard was alerted just after 1pm and took the woman to Dorset County Hospital within the hour.
A coastguard spokeswoman said: "Coastguards officers were quick on the scene and it was soon decided the elderly patient would travel to hospital by helicopter rather than by ambulance.
"It looks as though she fell out of her wheelchair. She has suffered from the fall and was given medication at the scene, but by the looks of it she was conscious."
