Family and friends of two-year-old Harry House have taken part in an emotional and touching walk in his memory.

The group of well-wishers and supporters gathered at Baiter Park in Poole almost a year after little Harry was taken from them after he was murdered.

His maternal grandfather Jason O'Neill organised the walk with the help of Harry's paternal grandmother Sarah Richards.

Around 50 people came together for the poignant event, taking part in either the 26 mile hike to Hengistbury Head or the 10k or 5k walks which took participants to Sandbanks.

Mr O'Neill said: "We're basically out to raise money for Gully's Place. It was the last place that looked after our Harry and it's for a good cause.

"We lost Harry a year ago but we want to make this a nice and positive event for everyone.

"We want to concentrate on the memory of Harry.

"Thank you to everybody who has donated and thank you for your sponsorship."

He and Ms Richards thanked Katie Henry from the Pole Factory - one of the sponsors of the event.

So far the group has raised around 50 per cent of their £2,500 target. The funds raised will be donated to Gully’s Place - a new children’s end-of-life care unit at Dorset County Hospital’s Kingfisher ward - which treated Harry in his final moments.

Justgiving.com/crowdfunding/justiceforharry was set up shortly after a trial into Harry's death resulted in a man's conviction. Harry sustained severe injuries during an attack at his home in Broadmayne with his mother Lauren O'Neill on May 26, 2016.
