Emergency services continued to scour the coastline this weekend in efforts to locate a missing man from Dorchester.

A major search was launched last Tuesday to find 61-year-old Hugh Cox.
He had left his house in White Lackington, Dorchester, at 7am but failed to turn up to his job in Poole.

Mr Cox's abandoned blue Volkswagen Tiguan Estate was discovered at Ringstead Bay at 9.30pm that evening.

A spokesman from Dorset Police confirmed that ongoing searches continued over the weekend to try to locate Mr Cox.

Searches in the Lulworth area also continued today.

Mr Cox is white and five ft six ins tall with grey hair. He wears half-moon glasses and is usually formally dressed in a suit or shirt and tie.

Chief Inspector Heather Dixey, of Dorset Police, said: "For Hugh not to turn up to work is completely out of character and we are concerned for his welfare as we believe he was very upset."

A second missing man has also not been located.

Mark Powell, also from Dorchester, went missing from an address in West End, Spetisbury, sometime between 10pm Sunday, June 18 and 9am on Monday, June 19.

The 53-year-old is believed to have cycled off on a ladies' red Raleigh bicycle without his phone or wallet. He is described as white, six ft tall, of stocky build, clean-shaven and with a tanned complexion.

Police are currently continuing with local enquiries in relation to Mr Powell.
