Officers investigating three church burglaries are looking into links between the raids.

All of the break-ins have taken place at buildings in North Dorset, with two reported in rural villages near Spetisbury.

Recording machines were stolen from the Longburton Methodist Church in Street Lane sometime between 3pm on June 20 and 1.50pm on June 22.

St Hippolytus in Ryme Intrinseca was also broken into sometime between 7am and 6.50pm on June 22.

Thieves smashed a stained glass window at the rear of the church to break in.

It is not yet known if anything was stolen.

Officers say the two break-ins may be linked.

St Peter and St Paul's in Blandford was raided sometime between 1pm on June 18 and 7am on June 19.

A quantity of cash was stolen.
