A well-known care home has celebrated its ten-year anniversary in style by hosting a traditional tea party with the mayor.

Care South’s Maiden Castle House care home marked the special milestone with a commemorative event, which saw residents and staff gather with the community to enjoy a tea party and entertainment at the home.

Chairman of Care South, Felicity Irwin DL, welcomed guests for the anniversary celebrations before guest of honour, Susie Hosford, the Mayor of Dorchester, brought everyone together to say a few words about the decade of support the home has provided to people since its doors opened in June 2007.

She said: “Maiden Castle House is an integral part of our community in Dorchester, and it has been wonderful to build this relationship over the last ten years.

“It’s a delight to be here today with the residents and Care South to mark the special anniversary, not only reflecting on the last decade but also looking forward to the next chapter.”

Caroline Bacon, home manager said: “Reaching our 10th anniversary is a significant milestone and one we all feel very proud and passionate about. At Maiden Castle House, our residents are at the heart of everything we do. Over the years we’ve celebrated a huge wealth of special events, from centenary birthdays and wedding anniversaries, to summer fetes, carnivals, and visits from local schools. Everything we do is to ensure that Maiden Castle House doesn’t just offer care, but is also a home for our residents where they can enjoy their later years of life. We very much look forward to the next ten years of service.”

Maiden Castle House is situated on Gloucester Road and describes itself as a state-of-the-art residential and dementia care home, promising a safe and caring home from home environment.
