Two fun-loving fundraisers are taking the biscuit with their latest bid to raise funds for poorly children.

Singing sensations Mel Ward and Kim Fudge, both from Weymouth, shot to fame by taking requests for 'carpool karaoke' and posting the videos online in aid of CLIC Sargent.

The videos were hugely popular and the pair raised £6,000.

Now, they've been handed a biscuit medal and a hamper from McVitie's to say thank you for the efforts.

The gifts come as the confectioner launches a £100,000 charity partnership with the children's cancer charity.

Kim said: “As forty-something mums, with three children each, we have been very touched with some of the stories that we have heard and how CLIC Sargent have been so supportive in what must be a parent’s worst nightmare. To be able to raise funds for such an amazing charity is a real privilege.”

McVitie’s will donate 5p from every pack of biscuits it sells in Morrisons stores directly to CLIC Sargent, the charity that fights for young lives struck by cancer.

The partnership will run from June 28 until July 11 and it aims to raise up to £100,000 for the charity.

Rachel Kirby-Rider, director of income and engagement for CLIC Sargent, said: “If our office is anything to go by, a lot of CLIC Sargent supporters love a cup of tea and a biscuit. It is brilliant to know that people will be able to pick up some biccies and help us fight for young lives struck by cancer.”

Laura Gamage, shopper marketing manager at Pladis Global, added: “CLIC Sargent helps young people living with cancer in so many ways, which is why we are delighted to work closely with them and Morrisons, in the hope to raise £100,000 for the invaluable work of their cancer care teams. In particular, helping to fund a new nursing programme that will help train healthcare professionals to make a difference in patients’ lives.”
