Dorset Police have fixed the 101 service number after a technical fault left residents unable to report non emergency incidents by phone.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said the issue was reported to police at around 1pm today and the issue was solved at 2.45pm.
Residents were urged to make non emergency enquiries using the email: 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk.
The emergency number 999 wasn't affected by the technical fault, however, police urged the public to remember that if a call is an emergency, i.e. a threat to life, or if a crime is in progress, they should call 999.
