Emergency services were called to an elderly man who suffered a head injury after falling on rocks.
Wyke Coastguard Rescue was called at 1pm today to help Portland Bill Coastguard and the ambulance service after a man fell and hit his head on a rock by Portland Bill lighthouse.
A spokesman for UK Coastguard said: “The gentleman was unconscious for a very short time but regained consciousness before the ambulance arrived.
"The paramedics, once on scene, declared the casualty able to walk from his location.
“He was helped by the Portland coastguard with the ambulance in accompaniment.”
The man was taken to Dorset County Hospital for treatment.
