IT’S all kicking off at Camp Bestival.

With less than a week to go until the gates open for the festival at Lulworth Castle, organisers have announced an updated and redesigned feature for this year – a bigger and better Sports Park.

Featuring a football camp led by Chelsea FC, cricket academy, a skate park, and more fun and games, it’s bound to have something for everyone to get active.

It is adding the Sports Park as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.

Festival founder and curator Rob da Bank said he was delighted to reveal an expanded sports offering this year.

He said: “Camp Bestival is many things – a family festival, a mum and dad’s knees-up, a village fete next to a castle, but it’s always been energetic and sporty, and we’re pleased to announce a reinvigorated Sports Park.”

The arena will feature workshops with English Premier League Champions Chelsea FC.

The CFC Summer Football Camp coaching staff will be giving festival goers a taste of what it’s like to win the top flight and imparting the club ethos to eager youngsters with 5-a-side, pop-up penalty shoot-outs and more.

Hampshire Cricket Junior Academy will be hitting it for six with a series of workshops and sessions with their best batsmen, bowlers and coaches helping enthusiasts to improve their action or shot selection.

There’s also a skate park hosted by Team Extreme, crazy golf, beach volleyball, ping pong, boules, hoopla and more.

The family-friendly festival, to be held from July 27-30 has the theme of Pop Stars & Rock Stars to mark its 10th anniversary.

The line-up includes Madness, Brian Wilson playing Pet Sounds, Mark Ronson, Holly Johnson, All Saints, Leftfield, The Lighting Seeds and many more.
