COMBINED arts events are being held to keep youngsters amused during the school summer holidays.

Small Things is aimed at children aged between three and 12. Workshops take place in a variety of venues in the Bridport area from Monday July 31 to Friday August 4.

Look out for Oops! Wow! Messy Art for ages four to seven years at Bridport Youth Centre on Monday July 31 from 10am to 11.30am. Come and go wild, make drawings using your whole body, moving to music, dancing with paint. This workshop is an exciting collaboration between dancer Aimee Symes ( Bridport Youth Dance) and Jo Burlington ( Oops! Wow! Messy Art group).

Into The Wild - wild craft for ages five to 12 years will be held from 10am to 2pm at the beautiful discovery area at Thorners School, Litton Cheney on Tuesday August 1 and Wednesday August 2. Sarah Churchill and Mickey Bonome bring their forest school and environmental art expertise to a couple of days of wild craft using natural materials. Kathy Kelly will be running a mini beasts workshop involving bug hunting, clay modelling, stories and outdoor fun at Cooper's circle on Allington Hill for ages three to five years (accompanied by a parent/guardian) on Wednesday August 2 from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

On Thursday August 3 explore the wonders of the animal kingdom through movement, play, games and creative dance. This workshop will be a playful and practical session encouraging children aged four to seven years to express their creative potential and will be led by Nikki Northover and Aimee Symes of Bridport Youth Dance .

On Friday August 4 join community artist Kathy Kelly for Fearless Friday (puppet making and story telling) at Cooper's circle 1.30pm to 3.30pm for ages four to seven years.

Finally on Friday at Broadoak Village Hall at 10.30am to 12pm, Darrell Wakelam will be running a mask making workshop for ages five to seven years called Beastly Bears followed by Crazy Chameleons 3D sculpture for ages eight to 12 years from 1pm to 3pm.

Small Things is co-ordinated by Nikki Northover in partnership with Aimee Symes and is an off shot off Summerthing Children's Art Festival founded in 1994 by Nikki Northover and is now a part of the Bridport Youth Dance development programme.

It is designed to be a week of fun arts activities and creative play for children aged under 12 years. All you need to do is bring your imagination and let it fly!
