Summer fun continues this weekend with plenty of musical entertainment across the area.

*ENJOY some film classics at Maumbury Rings, Dorchester, tomorrow afternoon.

Outside Cinema presents the Jungle Book from 3pm and Dirty Dancing from 6pm.

Between films the audience will be entertained by the energetic and extremely likeable band Mr Jèan who will perform a wide repertoire of foot-tapping, smile-inducing songs. The screenings aer being organised by members of Dorchester Youth Extra - so pack your popcorn and a picnic rug and enjoy!

*AN exhibition celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of master gardener Capability Brown is being held in Dorset.

Known as a creative genius, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown is said to have changed the face of 18th century England, designing country estates and mansions, moving hills and making flowing lakes and serpentine rivers.

The exhibition will be part of the Capability Brown Festival 2016 - the first ever celebration of Brown’s extensive works - and is being held at Milton Abbey in Milton Abbas, near Blandford, until August 21.

St Catherine’s Chapel, Milton Abbey, Lord Milton’s mansion, and the village of Milton Abbas are embraced and integrated by a 500 acre landscape designed by Capability Brown, which began in 1763 and continued up to his death in 1783.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to view more than 150 images of Brown’s work, which is said to have shaped people’s picture of the quintessential English countryside, in film photography, paintings and embroidery.

There will also be activities for children including interactive games and painting, as well as specially designed walks. A range of events, openings and exhibitions will also be running nationally.

*BRIDPORT'S first folk festival begins this weekend.

Headlining the festival is Reg Meuross and there will also be performances from Ninebarrow, The Polly Morris Band,Tinderbox, Devonbird,Kadia, No Strings Attached, The Old Gaffers, Harry Browns, Dorset Wrecks, Acoustic Rooster plus many others. Workshops will be held covering various genre of dance, songwriting, vocal harmony and musical instruments.

There will be more than 50 acts, including Shanty Crews, Morris dancers and rapping. An open air street Ceilidh is planned for the finale on the Sunday along with a Guinness World Record that will see more than 160 performers dancing to Bonny

*THE Chicago Blues Brothers are Back in Black tonight at Weymouth Pavilion. The show is a high-octane, adrenaline-pumping musical mash-up that presents the best material from the original Blues Brothers movies and is jam-packed full of songs by legends such as Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Cab Calloway – plus many other blues, soul, Motown and funk classics and a few surprises thrown in along the way. Capturing the sound, energy and persona that propelled the film to a cult status that still thrills audiences worldwide today.

This show is a powerhouse two-hour song-fest with over 40 hits performed live on stage in the concert that never finished. Call the box office for tickets.

*THE Bootleg Shadows are back at Weymouth Pavilion tomorrow (12) evening by popular demand.

With their immaculate appearance, synchronised dance movements and clean, pure melodic sound, the Shadows chalked up 35 hits of their own (not counting another 33 hits with Cliff Richard), giving them more hits than any other British group and securing them a unique place in the annals of popular music.

*PAY whatever you think the Watkins and Swarbrick Band are worth in Charminster near Dorchester tomorrow (12) night at 7.30pm.

This popular band have been travelling around Dorset's villages entertaining audiences with their acoustic music concerts for the last 18 months. Known for the different routes that they take in their music, Ken, Simon, Lucy and Angela will perform songs and tunes inspired by folk and country music as well as blues and jazz standards; they are a long way from being a 'folk' band! *ENJOY a musical performance in the Borough Gardens, Dorchester, with Blue Town Rumble and DJ Hurricane T on Sunday from 2pm.

This young reggae, bluesy, soul, dub style band will be bringing summer vibes to the gardens whatever the weather.

*GET Wild about Chesil Beach at the Chesil Beach Centre in Weymouth on Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

Find out about the fascinating wildlife of Chesil Beach, Portland and what Dorset Wildlife Trust is up to across the rest of the county. Join them for a shark and ray eggcase hunt, low tide walk or butterfly survey. There will be music, dancing and an action packed programme of wildlife activities for the whole family.
