Those with a fondness for feta and a passion for parmesan could win the ultimate money-can’t-buy prize at this year’s Dorset County Show.

Inspired by Willy Wonka and his chocolate factory, Ford Farm Cheesemakers in West Dorset has announced it will make five precious golden tickets available to lucky winners of this year’s show.

The Golden Tickets will be hidden in packs of Coastal Cheddar and if found will act as a pass, giving each claimant exclusive access to the Ford Farm Dairy, hidden away in the rolling West Dorset countryside.

During a tour, winners will uncover the marvellous mysteries behind Ford Farm’s award-winning cheese-making skills.

Martin Crabb, Head Cheesemaker at Ford Farm, based the golden ticket idea on his love of the much-loved Roald Dahl story, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

He said: “Those who find the Golden Ticket will be invited for a money-can’t-buy experience at Ford Farm. When they arrive, I will shake each guest firmly by the hand, Willy Wonka style and then take them on a tour of the factory as my personal guest.

“The tour will be full to the brim with marvellous discoveries about cheesemaking and deliciously cheesy eatables will be made available along the way. Tremendous things will be in store for the winners including, as they depart, a luxury cheese hamper, worth £100.”

All would-be winners must do to grab a chance at finding one of the coveted tickets is visit the Ford Farm stand at the Dorset County Show over the weekend of September 2 and 3 and purchase a 360g of Coastal Cheddar.

The grand tour will take place on Monday, October 23. Winners will need to arrive at the dairy at 9am and will be permitted to bring one member of their family to accompany them.

Mr Crabb said: “Be certain to bring your golden ticket, otherwise you will not be admitted!”
