RESIDENTS can have their say on a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in areas of Weymouth and Portland.
Under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council is proposing to put in place a Public Space Protection Order.
The borough council is considering a PSPO in specific areas of Weymouth & Portland, in relation to:
• alcohol related anti-social behaviour
• begging related anti-social behaviour
• the feeding of gulls
• cycling restrictions
The consultation closes at 5pm on Wednesday, November 8.
Cllr Francis Drake, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council’s Community Safety spokesman, said: “We want as many people as possible to take the time to have their say on these proposals.
"Public views are extremely important and will provide us with a broad range of information that will be carefully considered before councillors make any final decisions.
”Results of the consultation will be published on our website after the closing date.”
More information about the consultation is available at www.dorsetforyou.gov.uk/Weymouth-PSPO.
Residents can also fill in the consultation on the website.
If residents do not have access to the internet, paper copies of the consultation are available in the borough's local libraries or the Commercial Road offices.
