WEYMOUTH Golf Club Juniors continued their good form by retaining the Colin Chataway Trophy.

The quartet of Joe Wickham, Oliver Coward, Sam Trott, and Toby Trott beat teams from all over the county to win the prestigious event.

In the Dorset County Age Group Championships, Alex Johnston won the under-15s whilst Sam Trott finished runner-up, while Jacob Tidswell claimed the under-13s' prize with Tom Bastow finishing third.

In the overall scratch event, Tidswell finished first with a gross 73 with Johnston second with a gross 74 while Trott Sam gaining fourth place.

The club's juniors have also secured a place in the last eight of the Royal British Legion National Junior Knockout.

The pairs of Jacob Tidswell and Jack Pallister and Sam and Toby Trott won against a very strong Exeter side to put Weymouth through to the next round.

The event started with around 200 clubs from all over the country and the juniors have beaten Parkstone, Bramshaw, Stoneham and Exeter on the way to the last eight.

They are now just one round away from the National Finals hosted by RBL at Staverton Park, Daventry, Northamptonshire, on October 13-15. The draw for the next round will be on Sunday, August 27.

Meanwhile, Luke Shaw returned from his caddie duties for Tom Robson, who finished sixth in the recent Euro Pro event, to win the August Tankard with a gross 71, nett 66.

Jack Huson had his maiden victory in Division Three with a nett 68, while Pete Legg won Division Two with a nett 72 to beat Lennie Harris and Paul Durkin on countback.

Rod Parsons returned a score of 42 points to win the Seniors' August Stableford.

Rod Tompkin claimed the Division Two honours with 40pts.

The Seniors' team three continued their winning run by beating Long Sutton 4.5 to 1.5 at home while the Ladies beat Sturminster 4-0.

The Hardy B side have had a very good second half to the season having won away at Ashley Wood as well as home and away to Yeovil to secure second place in the league.

One final push at home against Ashley Wood in the last match of the season should secure promotion to Division One.
