Two lifeboats were launched to reports that an inflatable boat had suffered engine failure.
Both the inshore and all-weather lifeboats from Swanage launched just before 5.15pm yesterday to help the boat which was drifting towards the rocks on the ebb tide at Peveril Point
As the crew were getting ready to launch, a message was received that the boat had been taken under tow by another passing vessel
It was towed to the jetty at the nearby boatpark and one of the lifeboat crew liased with the boat's skipper to ensure everything was OK.
The situation was resolved and the crew were stood down.
