A 67-ft yacht was left stranded at sea after suffering an electrical failure.
The incident happened on Sunday evening and meant the yacht was unable to start its engine or use its lights, navigation equipment and radios.
Swanage Coastguard have now released a video of the rescue.
UK Coastguard was alerted to the incident but was unable to contact the yacht, so RNLI Swanage’s all-weather lifeboat was called at 6:44pm to South of Worbarrow Bay, in order to rescue the vessel.
Despite the bumpy conditions, the yacht was found off St Albans Head.
A spokesman for Swanage Lifeboat said: “The lifeboat came close alongside the yacht so that it was possible to shout across to the yacht’s skipper to get an update to the situation on board.
“The yacht was sailing well but with the daylight fading fast their original plan of heading to Portsmouth was not going to be a safe one. After some persuasion, a berth was arranged in Poole and the yacht altered course.”
The lifeboat then escorted the yacht into Poole Harbour.
A spokesman added: “Once in Poole Harbour the yacht was towed in to Poole Quay boat haven and secured to a berth with the help of the Poole Coastguard volunteers. The lifeboat was then released to return to Swanage.”
