Budding undersea explorers are in for a treat as characters from a popular children’s programme come to Weymouth.

CBBC’s The Deep: Junior Nekton Academy will arrive at Sea Life Adventure Park this weekend for an action packed deep sea adventure.

From tomorrow Saturday, September 9, until Sunday, October 1, visitors to the park can join the Nekton family in a new interactive explorer trail.

During the event, CBBC’s daring family of sea-faring explorers Antaeus, Fontaine, Will, Kaiko and their pet fish Jeffrey, will be inviting Sea Life visitors to join them in their quest to solve the mysteries of The Deep.

Young explorers can take part in the aquatic event when it comes to the park, joining the animated explorers to search the depths of the ocean and face solve puzzles as they do in the CBBC show.

A spokesman said: “While others look up to the stars, the Nektons know that an infinite number of things shine brightly in the darkness of the seas below.

“The Deep is a place where leviathans swim through sunken cities, where pirates lurk amidst floating black markets, and where a mysterious group of guardians hide long lost secrets.”

The Deep experience will see the adventure park host an array of themed interactive explorer zones, each with unique puzzles to help youngsters explore life under the sea.

Adventurers who successfully solve the puzzles in each zone will earn themselves the honorary title of ‘Junior Nekton’ and win a special prize.

Post-mission, all Junior Nektons are encouraged to further their discoveries by finding out about Sea Life’s conservation programmes while meeting the aquarium’s myriad of sea creatures, including seahorses, penguins, otters, turtles and more.

The Deep: Junior Nekton Academy at Sea Life is included in the usual admission price.
