Two people were taken to hospital following a collision between two motorcycles. 

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the crash, which took place near Dorchester on Saturday, September 9.

At about 5.20pm a blue Yamaha motorcycle and a black Yamaha motorcycle were involved in a collision on the westbound carriageway of the A35 Puddletown bypass.

The ambulance service attended and the riders of the motorcycles – a 53-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman both from Weymouth – were taken to hospital as a precaution and later released.

Detective Constable Declan Cummings, of Weymouth CID, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision who has not already spoken to police to please contact me.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone with information in relation to the manner of riding of either motorcycle immediately prior to the collision.”

A 53-year-old Weymouth man has been charged with dangerous driving and appeared at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 11.

He is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday, October 12.
