BUS passengers in the Weymouth area are being warned some services operated by First will be affected on Sunday due to the Ironman event.

The services affected are 4 (Weymouth-Preston), 502 (Lodmoor-Weymouth-Littlesea) and 503 (Weymouth-Waterside Holiday Park).

First says service 4 will be suspended until the 2.20pm departure from the King's Statue. The services between 2.20pm and 5.20pm will operate via Dorchester Road, then travel right to the Manor roundabout, join the bypass and take the second exit right at Jurassic roundabout. Here it will join Littlemoor Road and follow it until turning left into Coombe Valley Road. From the Seven Acres estate it will re join Preston Road and at Chalbury Corner it will take second exit and rejoin Littlemoor Road. It will follow the reverse route back to Weymouth King's Statue. The 6.20pm departure will resume on the normal route.

Service 502 will have no access to Lodmoor Country Park. Journeys between Weymouth King's Statue and Lodmoor are suspended for the day.

Service 503 will be suspended until the 2pm departure from the King's Statue. Services between 2pm and 5.30pm will operate via Dorchester Roadthen travel right to the Manor Roundabout, join the bypass and take the second exit right at Jurassic Roundabout. Here it will join Littlemoor Road, follow it until Chalbury Corner and take the second exit right onto Preston Road and follow to Overcombe Corner. At Overcombe Corner, this service will take first exit left and resume on the normal route. The same diversion applies for the return journey. These journeys will service additional stops at Chalbury Corner, Melstock Avenue and Overcombe Corner in both directions. Departures from 6pm onwards will resume normal route.
