A WOMAN who inadvertently caught a wedding proposal on camera while snapping a Jurassic Coast beauty spot is urging the couple to tell her how the cliffhanger ending worked out.

Tracey Hollis-Rowe, 44, was photographing Durdle Door when a man and woman appeared in the foreground.

The man, who had brown hair and a beard, suddenly dropped to one knee, held out a ring in a jewellery box in his left hand and asked the young woman to marry him.

His red-headed girlfriend, who was wearing an almost matching green coat, was clearly taken aback by the proposal as she put her left hand to her head in a gesture of joy-filled surprise.

Tracey didn't want to stay and infringe on the tender moment so quickly walked away.

But after being left with a cliff hanger ending, she is desperate to find out whether the woman said 'yes' and is appealing for them to contact her.

She has no idea who the couple are but they appear to be aged in their late 20s or early 30s and were at Durdle Door at 2pm on Wednesday.

The man had an expensive-looking camera slung over his right shoulder and the woman was carrying a black rucksack on her back.

Tracey, an artist from Leigh, Greater Manchester, who was on holiday in Dorset with her husband, said she would 'love' the couple to see the photo of their special moment.

She said: "We had a day walking the coastal path and I noticed the gentleman down on one knee as I was photographing beautiful Durdle Door.

"It was the first time we saw the couple and I thought something was up as he was on one knee but then I saw the ring in the box.

"I didn't want to spoil the moment so we just carried on walking but I would love to know if she accepted his proposal.

"He was still on one knee as we continued on our way. That was the last I saw of them.

"Hopefully we witnessed a happy moment for the couple and I would love them to see the photo."
