Families are being encouraged to come and be inspired by the Jurassic Coast and get creative at the cove.

A new unique all weather, all year-round attraction has opened, nestled between Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.

Father and son team, Stuart and Matthew Beavan has transformed what was a rundown members club in to a new business - Creative at the Cove.

Visitors will be able to take in an inspirational walk along the Jurassic Coast, combined with a relaxing few hours trying their hand at a variety of creative activities.

Stuart and Matthew have many years’ experience of both developing and managing visitor attractions. Stuart's most recent project was to create a wild camping site near Stratford-Upon-Avon and prior to this was for many years general manager at Wimborne Model Town and Gardens.

Matthew's experience includes the position of visitor services manager at the award-winning Moors Valley Country Park and Forest, and also many years working for the NHS.

The pair decided the time was right to open an attraction in the iconic location of Lulworth Cove.

Stuart said: "The welcoming, relaxing and inspiring environment encourages old and young alike to participate and have a go, whatever skill level. Choose from a wide range of creative activities from paint your own pottery to decopatch, fossil digging to model making – plus lots more."

Create at the Cove is a member of the Jurassic Coast Trust, and supports the charitable work it undertakes. The Trust cares for this extraordinary natural World Heritage site and brings it to life for the millions of visitors each year through engagement and education.

The attraction was opened on September 15 with the owners of the Lulworth Estate James Weld and Sara Weld, marketing director Caroline Sharp and property manager Guy Clatworthy in attendance.
