A man was airlifted to hospital following a two-car crash.

All three emergency services and an air ambulance were called to the scene of the collision at Hurst Bridge on the B3390 near Crossways this morning.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We were called to the incident at 7.10am.

"One man was airlifted to hospital by air ambulance.

"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"We don't have information of any other injuries."

A silver Ford Mondeo and a red Audi A3 were involved in the collision.

A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said one casualty had to be cut free from their car, and one of the cars had hit the bridge.

The ambulance service sent two rapid response vehicles as well as the air ambulance, and treated a man who had sustained a hip injury.

The road is blocked and the local authority has been called due to possible fuel on the road.
