Thousands of visitors will flock to Weymouth Beach today for the annual beach motocross.
The event is hosted by Purbeck Motocross Club and Weymouth and Portland Lions Club and is set to get pulses racing with its high fuelled action.
The event has become a highlight of the Autumn calendar and a popular race in the motocross circuit with around 300 riders are expected to blitz around today’s course.
The course is being prepared this morning. Yesterday, the county took a battering from Storm Brian, however, today is a different story with dry weather expected along with sunny spells. There is also a chance that there may be some showers later this afternoon.
Riders will rev their engines for a practice run around the course at midday before beginning the first race at 1pm.
The beach motocross is free to attend; however, the Lions are encouraging people to purchase a £2 programme or make a donation to the group’s charity fund.
As well as the racing, there will be lots of stalls along the Esplanade, a funfair by the Jubilee Clock and a display of classic cars.
