A broken down motorhome on the A354 caused a major backlog of traffic this morning.

Traffic heading from Weymouth towards Dorchester on the A354 Weymouth Relief Road was at a standstill until recovery could be organised to move the motorhome.

Dorset Police received a call at 10.39am.

The spokesman said the motorhome broke down at the top of the hill on the Weymouth Relief Road.

Police were called to help with recovery and assist with traffic.

One lane remained open and both lanes were fully reopened at 11.48am.
