Guests to new health centre in Poundbury sipped champagne and enjoyed top-quality food to mark its launch - whilst also raising money for a vital charity.

More than 150 people helped Mats and Jasminka Hansson celebrate the launch of their brand new centre in Buttermarket Square, with money being raised for Weldmar Hospicecare.

The Weymouth based company decided to move it’s operation to a more centrally located position, to better serve its patients.

As their guests looked around the brand new facilities they sipped champagne and enjoyed food from the kitchen of Mat Follas’s Bramble Café and Angel Bakery Poundbury.

A raffle at the event proved a great success for Weldmar. It included gifts from Medusa, Cherryade, Roman VII, the Poundbury Florist, Al Molo and many other surrounding businesses.

Mr Hansson said: “We would like to thank all of our patients and guests who joined us on the day. It was amazing to see everyone supporting us at the start of our new chapter.

"They are our ambassadors to the wider community, they help spread the word about the Hansson Health concept to revolutionise your health and to prevent pain and ill health through education, adjustments and exercise.

"It is our mission to teach people about their body, how it works and how it fails and in turn, be able to turn their pain into an opportunity for them. Our brand new centre is all about treatment and prevention."

After the event, John Lockyer, a Weldmar ambassador said: “Everyone at Weldmar would like to say a big thank you to all at Hansson Health for their support at the opening of their new premises in Poundbury. We rely so much on our local community to fund our care. "The money they have raised will help us to continue supporting our patients and their families where and when they need us most – in their homes, in a local hospital, in our hospice, or over the phone.“

Hansson Health’s new centre is open Monday to Friday and can be contacted on 01305 761507.
