FAMILIES will be invited to 'set sail' for Camp Bestival next year.

The sailing theme has been unveiled for the 2018 event at Lulworth Castle.

Everyone is invited aboard to join the fun from July 26-29.

Camp Bestival founder Rob da Bank said: “Being a sailor boy myself and growing up by the sea I’m pretty in love with our theme for 2018, and the old da Bank brain is racing with ideas for outfits and accessories already.

"Hopefully kids of all ages will get into this one and help us steer HMS Camp Bestival through the calm seas."

Although there's a watery theme, organisers can do without the rain which came down in buckets at this year's event.

Despite the rain and mud however, audiences had a great time at the 10th anniversary event which had the theme of pop stars and rocks stars.

Performers included Madness, Mark Ronson, Leftfield, Beach Boy Brian Wilson, and All Saints. There was all the usual madcap stuff and craziness which makes the family-friendly Camp Bestival so special.

There's a Christmas promotion for 2018 tickets. People who order tickets at 'Early Bird' prices before December 11 will receive some festival stocking fillers for kids including temporary nautical tattoos, brand-new Camp Bestival character stickers, a hand-illustrated Christmas card and a limited edition sew-on patch.

People who have already ordered their tickets can still claim the stocking fillers.
