Emergency services rushed to save the live of an elderly man who suffered a heart attack.

Ambulance and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance crews were called to an address in Weymouth on Thursday evening after a man suffered cardiac arrest.

Emergency teams carried out CPR at the scene.

A spokesman for South West Ambulance Service said they received a call at 8.11pm on Thursday.

"There was one patient in cardiac arrest and CPR was carried out at the scene. We attended with two ambulances, one rapid response vehicle and the air ambulance," they said.

The air ambulance was called to assist ground crews and landed in the Broadwey area.

A spokesman for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance said they attended the incident after a request from land ambulance crews.

"We land assisted an elderly male patient who had reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest," they said.

The man ended up being taken to Dorset County Hospital by road ambulance.
