Emergency services were on the scene after two people came off a motorbike on the A37. 

The A37 was closed and police and ambulance crews attended after a motorbike crash near the Norden Lane turn off on the A37 at Maiden Newton.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: “We were called at 1.10pm with a report of a single vehicle collision on the A37 a Warden Hill.

“Two people had come off a motorbike and an ambulance was requested.”

A spokesperson for South West Ambulance service said they were called at 1.08pm to reports of an road traffic collision. 

"There were two patients - one patient with head and back injury and one patient with a foot injury.

"We attended with two ambulances and one rapid response vehicle. Both patients taken to Dorset County Hospital," the spokesperson said. 

The incident occurred just before the Clay Pigeon Park turn off on the westbound road heading towards Yeovil.

The police spokesperson said the local authority was also requested as there was a report of oil on the road.

The road was closed in both directions at Warden Hill at the Cattistock turning but has since been reopened.
