Residents can now have their say on the planning application for new ramps to be added to Wareham Railway Station footbridge.
The council is urging members of the public to voice their opinions on new 'step-free' access ramps designed to make the station safer.
Dorset Highways has now applied for planning permission from Dorset County Council to build the scheme.
Details of the plan are available to the public through an online planning portal and at Wareham Library.
The County Council said the current level crossing at Wareham Railway Station has a long history and following safety improvement requirements in 2009, has been monitored by a safety attendant between 6am and 1am when trains are scheduled to pass.
To provide a safer, permanent crossing facility, the council said highway engineers have worked with Network Rail to design step-free access ramps up to the Wareham railway footbridge.
A listed building application has also been submitted to Purbeck District Council, which residents are also able to comment on.
Residents can submit their comments online on the planning portal and the council advises using the Dorset County Council planning pages to comment on the planning application and Purbeck District Council planning pages to comment on the listed building consent.
