Division One:

GUNGHO MARKETING 13

GW ELECTRICAL 20

GW Electrical narrowed the gap to first place down to one point with a good victory over Gungho Marketing.

The game began at a fast pace as Gungho’s persistent attack fought against GW’s defence who made the most of interceptions to end the quarter a goal ahead.

Both teams worked hard to gain possession as Gungho managed to carve out a small lead, thanks to impressive shooting from Maisie Fowler (GS) and Jaimee Brown (GA).

GW upped their game in response and managed to bring the scoreline even again as the third quarter ended.

GW defenders ramped up the pressure, gaining possession of the ball for their team as Electrical’s GA, Sally Miller, made some impressive shots bringing her team into the lead as the match came to a close.

WYKE SMUGGLERS 20

GIRLING AND BOWDITCH 42

GIRLING and Bowditch got a valuable win in their fight for third place, taking advantage of Gungho’s loss to GW Electrical.

Girling’s WA, Elena Wood, moved well around the court despite the slippery conditions overcoming Wyke’s defence and helping her team to carve out a small lead.

Girling GD, Chloe Grier, showed some great tactical play in Wyke’s shooting circle to minimise chances.

Their attackers continued to get the ball down to the D, where GS Emily England showed her skill with long range shooting to increase her team’s lead.

Wyke GK, Amelia Elsom, made some good interceptions in the final quarter to prevent scoring opportunities but Girling were able to claim the victory.

Division Two

Coastal kept their cool, with some impeccable interceptions allowing them to create scoring opportunities and take a strong lead.

Coastal dominated the midcourt despite Potting’s WD Sarah Longstaffe exerting defensive pressure, however this was not enough to stem the flow of Coastal’s attack.

Potting began to find a rhythm to lower the score difference but the superb teamwork from Coastal saw them claim victory.
