A credit union has helped its members save a significant sum of money in time for Christmas.
Wyvern Savings and Loans Credit Union, which has branches in Dorchester and Weymouth, has helped members save more than £65,000 in their Christmas savings accounts this year.
The money has been transferred onto members’ Engage Classic Account debit cards or sent by BACs to another account, and the firm says members are out and about spending their money on Christmas gifts.
Members who managed to save more than £100 were also entered into a free draw for a Christmas Hamper which was donated by the firm’s Board of Directors.
Janice Knapman, grandmother of one of the lucky winners from Weymouth, was presented with the prize by Hilary Wareham, coordinator of the firm’s Littlemoor branch team. Three generations of her family are credit union members.
