Hundreds of motorcyclists will be coming together next spring with the aim of changing someone's life.

A date for the fourth Action on Addiction from Weymouth to Exmouth has been confirmed and plans are already well underway.

The event was launched by Chickerell resident, John Bramble, in memory of his son Craig who sadly died from solvent abuse in 2001.

Each year the ride raises thousands for Clouds House, a treatment centre that supports people affected by addiction, and Mr Bramble is hoping 2018 will be even bigger and better.

Earlier this year the ride raised a total of £5,776 and saw 400 motorcyclists take part. Mr Bramble has set the target of £6,000 for 2018 and is hoping to at least equal the number of riders.

Mr Bramble is also calling for more riders to be dressed in pink.

Mr Bramble said: "This is now the fourth charity motorcycle ride for Action on Addiction supporting Clouds House. Again we will be riding from Weymouth to West Bay, have a 60 minute refreshment break at West Bay and then ride on to Exmouth finishing at Fox Holes Car Park.

"Whilst at West Bay I again ask people to use Snack Shack for their refreshment break as they will be putting a percentage of takings from your purchases into the charity, they have raised loads for Action on Addition over the previous three rides and remain great supporters to myself and the charity, and continue to be.

"There will also be refreshments for you at another great supporter of ours Helmet City who will also be asking for a contribution for teas and coffees."

The ride will take place on Sunday, April 22 starting at South Coast Motorcycles and Scooters on the Granby Industrial Estate at 10.30am.
