The Waterloo-Weymouth line was blocked due to a reported broken rail between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst.
The Bournemouth bound line was blocked, but following a safety inspection it has now reopened .
South Western Railway (SWR) said a Network Rail engineering team inspected the area and no damage to any of the track was identified.
SWR warns that its services running through the two stations may be delayed or revised following the inspection.
Residual delays are expected until around 12pm today.
Tickets are being accepted on Great Western Railway services between Westbury and Weymouth.
