A man was left in need of surgery following an assault in the early hours of the morning in Weymouth town centre.
The incident happened at around 3.30am on Sunday, January 21 2018 outside The Rum Shack in Maiden Street.
The victim - a local man aged in his 40s - was left requiring surgery to his leg following the assault.
Detective Constable Jacqui Gravenor, of Weymouth CID, said: "We are still trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any further information to please come forward.
"We have been carrying out CCTV and house-to-house enquiries and investigations are ongoing."
