People are being invited to have their say on plans to resurface three car parks in West Bay.

Cllr John Russell, Portfolio Holder for Environmental Protection an Assets said: “We are extending an invitation to local residents and businesses to come and view the proposed plans. We will also be providing better definition of parking spaces to accommodate more cars and improve overall experience, too.”

An event  will take place on Thursday, February 1 at the Salt House in West Bay from 10am to 4pm. Council officers will be on hand to discuss the plans with residents and listen to comments.

The proposed parking surface is called CellPave, and has already been used at Chesil car park in Weymouth. It offers natural drainage and is very eco-friendly, being made from 100 per cent recycled plastics.

A spokesman for WDDC said: "We anticipate works beginning after Easter.  We expect to complete in time for the Summer holidays.

"In 2016, West Dorset District Council members approved funding for resurfacing three car West Bay car parks. They are the Bridport Arms, West Bay Road and Station Yard car parks."
