The Mayor of Dorchester joined more than 40 Strollers for its annual party in the Corn Exchange.

Cllr Susie Hosford joined the group after one of its usual Tuesday afternoon walks.

Also present was Stuart Riddle from South West Training and quality assurance officer for Walking for Health.

Amanda Gallaher, chairman of the Strollers welcomed everyone to the party and then handed over to Ron Kirby for the afternoon.

The Mayor presented volunteer certificates to the committee and leaders as well as assisting with the raffle.

Mr Riddle presented an award to Susan Blake for for her outstanding contribution to Walking for Health.

The party ended with a short music quiz and a picture quiz.

Dorchester Strollers is an accredited Walking for Health Group offering two walk occasions each week - Monday mornings and Tuesday afternoons.

On each occasion there is a short walk of up to 45 minutes and a longer one of up to an hour, always followed by tea or coffee so that both groups of walkers can meet.

There occasion longer walks of up to 90 minutes usually on a Thursday or Sunday.

The walks are led by specially trained leaders and are free.
