A Christian author and singer from Weymouth is set to perform in the county town.

Sharon Tedford is touring the UK following the launch of her new book and album, both titled Stand.

She will perform songs from the album and read extracts from her book, that discusses the inspiration behind her songs.

The style of the album is contemporary Christian with jazz and blues undertones. It has been described as melodically warm, lyrically interesting, and compelling. The songs lead listeners into the presence of the living God inviting them to worship him.

Sharon attended St John’s Primary School, Wey Valley School and Weymouth College before gaining a BA (Hons) English and Drama at Kingston University. She now lives in Dallas, Texas.

Sharon worshipped at both Dorchester and Weymouth Baptist Churches.

Her new album has been produced by Jon-John Robinson, a two-time Grammy winner and mastered by Ian Boxill, a Grammy and Golden Globe winner.

Before relocating to Texas, she led the music parts of services at Gold Hill Baptist Church, Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire. She also helped to lead the team under the Senior Pastor Steven Gaukroger. Sharon has also led music for Christian events across the US, the UK and in Australia.

She will perform at Dorchester Baptist Church on Sunday, February 11. Doors open at 6pm and she is set to perform at 6.30pm.
