Officers investigating a sexual assault at a Weymouth nightclub are releasing an image of a man they would like to speak to who may be able to assist with the investigation.

The incident was reported to have occurred at around 3.30am on Saturday, January 13 at Boombox nightclub on the Esplanade.

The victim - a woman aged in her 20s - was dancing with friends in the club when she was approached by a man from behind. He pressed up against her before touching her inappropriately on the chest.

The victim challenged the man, but the man repeated his action a short time later. An altercation then occurred between the pair, before the man was ejected from the premises.

Inspector Tony Burden, of Weymouth police, said: "The incident has caused a significant impact on the victim, who remains very upset over what occurred.

"We have been making various enquiries into the incident and only now are we in a position to issue a public CCTV appeal in order to identify someone who may hold valuable information in relation to what happened.

"I would appeal to anyone who is able to identify the man pictured, or who has any information that could assist with the investigation, to please contact Dorset Police."
