Looking to switch career? Unsure of the skills you need, or want to take your first step on the career ladder?

Meet local employers, find out what it takes to succeed or get help in creating a winning CV at the Dorset Echo Job Fair.

Back by popular demand, our event brings together businesses and jobseekers from across the career spectrum.

It takes place on Wednesday, March 7 from 10am to 3pm at Weymouth College on Cranford Avenue – and it's free.

Hundreds of jobseekers have utilised the invaluable advice given out by advisors at the fair over the years, and it's hoped this year's event will be bigger and better than ever.

The fair was designed to bring employers and job seekers together and serves as a networking hub.

And it’s not too late for businesses looking to expand their teams to snap up a stall. Currently businesses attending range from retail, care, education and dining providers.

Confirmed stands currently include Nurse Plus, Sunny Days Nursery, Autism Wessex, Encompass, PGL Travel, Cambian Autism Services and Portland Harbour Authority Ltd.

David McArthur from the Department for Work and Pensions said: "Jobseekers have a fantastic opportunity to meet a host of leading employers and providers across a wide range of sectors.

"We are proud to work in partnership with the Dorset Echo, both in bettering the lives of local people and supporting local employers and providers to go from strength to strength. Previous Dorset Echo Job Fairs have seen hundreds of jobseekers secure long-term sustainable jobs and careers."

Editor of the Dorset Echo, Diarmuid Macdonagh, added: "We're really excited to be hosting another Dorset Echo Jobs Fair. Previous years have been very successful.

"There’s no better time to take stock and think about your options than the start of the year, and this event brings together a host of local employers to help you on your way.

"We hope to see you there."
