Midsummer Madness, the rebranded and revitalised Dorchester Carnival, has community involvement high on its agenda.

This is an event in Dorchester, for Dorchester, and about Dorchester, and it is hoped that as many local people as possible will come forward and help put the Mad firmly in Madness.

Centred on the Borough Gardens, but with Brewery Square and the town centre all being integral parts of the plans for the day, there will be plenty of scope for variety and ample space for local organisations to take part.

Organiser Anita Harries said: “One of our aims is to encourage as many local charities and organisations to take part as possible. This is a great opportunity for them to raise their profile and make some money. We are also happy for local craftspeople and other folk who produce items for sale to set up a stall and ply their wares.”

Seven organisations have already come forward and booked their place, but there is room for more. Further information for potential stall-holders can be obtained by contacting Janet Hewitt on 01305 266175 or emailing janet.hewitt99@gogglemail.com
