New signage reducing the speed on a section of road near Weymouth – singled out at the most dangerous in the south west – has been installed.
The A353 White Horse Hill between Preston and Osmington has been reduced from a 60mph zone to a 40mph zone.
The decision to change the speed limit on the road was made at Dorset County Council's cabinet last year.
Changing the speed limit at White Horse Hill cost the council £2,750, including advertising charges.
As reported in the Echo, the whole stretch of the A353 is the highest risk road in the region, having seen 12 fatal or serious crashes between 2013-15, 58 per cent of which involved motorcyclists.
The 9.2km stretch of road runs through Littlemoor, Preston, Osmington and Poxwell, up to the Warmwell Roundabout.
There have been a number of crashes on the road in recent years, which lead to councillors calling to reduce the speed.
