Several services were cancelled and there were delays and alterations to many others.
Trespassing on the railway is illegal.
When people trespass on the railway, Network Rail must make sure the railway is safe and check for damage before allowing trains to run again.
Lines have now reopened but a spokesman for SWR said trains may still be cancelled, delayed or revised.
